A group of Escalon High school students, upset with what they consider the unfair treatment of a trio of teachers, gathered signatures outside the Friday night basketball game, Feb. 2, seeking to keep the teachers on board while ousting high school principal Eric Simoni. In front, Angelica Coreno, a senior, takes a signature while fellow senior Mirabella Jones, in back, checks out the signatures already gathered. Simoni said he couldn’t comment on the topic, while District Superintendent Ron Costa said the three teachers in question – Michelle Canfield, Jennifer Moore and Cody Walker – had resignations due for action on the school board agenda on Tuesday night, Feb. 6, after The Times went to press.
