An art exhibit displaying 20 area high school student graphic art designs submitted to the Grand Foundation Student Film Festival Contest will be on display for the public in the Tracy Grand Theatre Center’s Community Art Gallery from now through Friday, Jan. 31. The Poster Art Exhibit is the teaser for the Grand Foundation Student Film Festival’s live-screening of 22 innovative “emerging filmmaker” short films from college and high school students throughout California and beyond, on Saturday, Jan. 25, beginning at 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts in Tracy.
The poster design contest is an arts education outreach program of the Grand Foundation in partnership with area high school art and graphic design teachers and students. A $500 scholarship award will be presented to the winner of the poster design contest, Jordyn Kusaba, a junior at Mountain House High School, at the Student Film Festival’s Filmmaker Awards Reception which ends the day-long festival.
The festival features Film-Talk Headliner Paul D. Bestolarides, who is an Independent Filmmaker and Adjunct College Professor, and Film-Talk Workshop Presenter Cyndy Green, a highly skilled and experienced videojournalist, with more than four decades in broadcast news working as a cameraman, editor, and running live trucks. A Jury Panel Discussion and Filmmaker Awards Reception will round out the programming. Vote for your favorite film in the Audience Choice Award.
