SONORA — The 45th anniversary Sierra Repertory Theatre season is filled with surprises around every corner.

Due to popular demand, SRT has included a few audience favorites to the lineup and tribute concerts are now playing on the East Sonora stage.

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG

February 15, 2024 – March 24, 2024

Called “the funniest play Broadway has ever seen,”, this classic murder mystery by award-winning Mischief is chock-full of mishaps and madcap mania. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production where accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

March 28, 2024 – April 28, 2024

A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. The meek floral assistant stumbles across a new breed of plant but his good luck changes once he discovers its out of this world origins and intent towards global domination.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE

Hailed as “The Perfect Broadway Musical,” The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Golden Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another. Take a dollop of Grease, mix in some Pump Boys and Dinettes, and add a generous dose of Forever Plaid and you’ve got the high-octane fun of Route 66. Travel along the ‘Main Street of America’ from Chicago to the California coast with the greatest ‘Rock ‘n Road’ hits including “King of the Road,” “Little Old Lady from Pasadena,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” and many more.

More than 50 years after its creation, the rock musical Hair continues to celebrate the ‘60s counterculture in all its glory. The American tribal love rock musical celebrates the sixties counterculture in all its barefoot, long-haired, bell-bottomed, beaded and fringed glory. To an infectiously energetic rock beat, the show wows audiences with songs like “Aquarius”, “Good Morning, Starshine”, and “Let The Sunshine In”.

INTO THE WOODS

October 10, 2024 – November 10, 2024

At the East Sonora Theatre

Your favorite storybook characters are brought to life in this enchanting modern classic. When a Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey into the woods to break the spell.

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER

The beloved TV classic Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer soars off the screen and onto the stage. When a storm threatens to keep Santa’s sleigh from taking flight, what makes Rudolph different turns out to be what helps him save Christmas!

AMERICANA CHRISTMAS

A collection of some of the finest Christmas songs in Americana, roots, folk and alt-country, from female-led musical group Americana Women.
