The holidays approach, filled with tradition and celebration. The Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge #65 continue their monthly breakfast tradition on the second Sunday at the IOOF Hall in downtown La Grange.
Sunday, Nov. 8 is the date this month, so treat your family to a hearty breakfast. Open early, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., the menu includes biscuits and gravy, sausage, ham and cheese omelets and French toast. Complimentary coffee and orange juice round out the meal, all for $6.
All are invited to La Grange to come for breakfast, admire the 1881 vintage Odd Fellows Hall, and tour the upstairs meeting room, with its antique furnishings and historic significance. This month is also the perfect time to take a look at what else they have to offer in the Gold Rush village of
La Grange.
One seasonal tradition is the return of the Salmon to the Tuolumne River. The old bridge in La Grange is a favorite viewing station, and there is more adventure waiting upstream where you can see the Salmon gather in several pools and shoals, amidst the rippling currents. The bridge, on Old La Grange Road, is just across from the La Grange Market. It is also accessible from the north bank of the river, near the Fish & Game regional office. While in town it’s a treat to visit the Museum, open Sundays at the east end of town.
The IOOF Hall, the scene of many community events in La Grange, is at 30018 Yosemite Boulevard, which is Highway 132, just east of the intersection of Highway J-59.
