It was a night of fun, food and meeting and greeting as Escalon Police, Fire, Community Ambulance and city personnel joined in to visit multiple gatherings for National Night Out.
Hosted at locations around the city on Tuesday, Aug. 1, the event was coordinated through the Escalon Police Department. This year marked the 40th anniversary of the national event and local residents turned out in droves to celebrate.
“National Night Out went well. We had an opportunity to connect with new locations,” said Police Chief Gus Flores. “The citizens were happy to see us and the interaction with them was great.”
The chief added that while visiting, the department members were able to promote the Neighborhood Watch, Volunteer and the Explorer programs, all offered through the local police department.
“It was a great time and we are looking forward to next year’s event,” Flores said.
