Delicato Family Wines is hosting its 35th Fine Art Show in February and the public is encouraged to visit the art that will be on display throughout the Tasting Room. All art in this show will be available for sale on a first come basis.
The Fine Art Show was open to entries by the creators of original art produced within the last three years. Mediums of acrylic, watercolor, pastel, oil, charcoal, or ink will be featured. Artwork was judged in seven categories: Landscape, Floral, Portrait, Animals, Whimsical, Seascape and Other. If all categories receive sufficient entries, 20 awards totaling over $1,600 will be given to category winners.
Numerous styles of art will be on display at the Delicato Fine Art Show from Sunday, Feb. 2 through Sunday, Feb. 23. Visitors are encouraged to call the Tasting Room to reserve a tasting flight and cast a vote for their favorite piece of art. The winning artist will receive the coveted Visitors’ Choice Award. You can also just visit the art show without having to reserve a flight; Delicato is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and is located off Highway 99 at exit 246, four miles north of Manteca.
The judge for the 2025 show is Jeannie Vodden. Her preference for the complex play of form and light is balanced by her use of very simple materials and a limited palette. Starting with only three colors, and rarely more than five, she glazes transparent layers. The visual effects are revealed in an unusual feeling of depth of color perfectly suited to transparent watercolor. Vodden has taught workshops throughout California, including Zoom classes for French Escapade. She has won numerous awards and has been published in Artist’s Palette Magazine, Pratique de Arts Magazine and Splash 22 Watercolor competition. She has shown her work in galleries and businesses throughout California. Her one-woman exhibits have been presented at Gallery 10 in Sutter Creek, CA; Mill Valley Art Commission in Mill Valley, CA; and the Double Dip Gallery in Lodi, CA to name a few. Her work can be viewed on her website, www.JeannieVodden.com
