Just a few more programs remain in the Astronomy in the Park series for 2024, hosted at Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton.
Presented by The Stockton Astronomical Society, Oak Grove Docent Council and San Joaquin County Parks, the Saturday, Oct. 12 program will feature Star Cluster in Hercules, Dumbbell Nebula. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., and it’s your chance to view planets through giant telescopes after sunset.
Oak Grove Regional Park is at I-5 and Eight-Mile Road, Stockton. There is a $6 cash parking fee but no entry fee for the program itself.
Future programs are scheduled to include Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, M31 (Andromeda Galaxy) on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 5 p.m.; and Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4:45 p.m., with viewing of Saturn, Mars, M33 (Triangulum Galaxy).
