Saturday, Nov. 2 saw the annual Kris Kringle Market hosted at Saron Lutheran Church in Escalon. Shoppers had the opportunity to peruse and purchase a variety of handmade crafts, collectibles, gently used books and freshly made sweet treats. Shoppers formed a line through the tables to get to the checkout area, where they could also purchase tickets for a quilt drawing. Among the unique items for sale was the third edition of the Saron cookbook, featuring favorite recipes from church members, along with a history of the Saron Lutheran Church. Kris Kringle himself made a stop at the market to pose with youngsters and the young at heart, such as Sue Farver, who took the opportunity for a quick photo. There was also a chili luncheon available as part of the holiday market festivities.
