The first Saturday in October traditionally features Escalon’s Citywide Yard Sale Day, with the date for the event coming up this weekend, Saturday, Oct. 7. Hours for the event are 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Officials at Escalon City Hall said as of Monday afternoon, Oct. 2, they had about 80 addresses to list on the citywide yard sale map, indicating where in the community the sales are being hosted.
This is the 31st annual citywide yard sale day and it has continued to be a crowd pleaser, bringing in shoppers from the Bay area and the foothills, as well as San Joaquin and Stanislaus County residents.
The map featuring addresses of the sales will be posted online Thursday, Oct. 5 on the City of Escalon website and also on the city’s Facebook page. There will also be hard copies of the map available in front of Escalon City Hall at 2060 McHenry Ave.
Along with yard sales being staged throughout the city on Saturday, members of the Escalon-Farmington Garden Club are planning to host a fundraising bake sale, on the campus at El Portal Middle School on First Street. Hours for the bake sale will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
