Yosemite National Park has announced a temporary delay in the release of reservations for five popular campgrounds, including Upper Pines, Lower Pines, North Pines, Wawona, and Hodgdon Meadow. The delay affects camping dates between June 15 and July 14.

The park recognizes the inconvenience this may cause for visitors planning trips and appreciates their patience. Yosemite officials are working to release the affected campground nights as soon as possible.

Once confirmed, the park will provide at least a seven-day advance notice before the reservations become available. Updates will be posted on Yosemite National Park’s website and social media channels.

Reservations for North Pines Campground during the impacted dates were available through an early access lottery, which was open for applications from Nov. 25 to Dec. 14, 2024. Results were distributed on Dec. 22, 2024. Any remaining availability at North Pines will follow the regular release schedule, with reservations opening on the 15th of each month, five months in advance.

Additional Campground Updates

White Wolf Campground will remain closed throughout 2025 due to ongoing sewer issues.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground is nearing the completion of a major rehabilitation project and is expected to reopen later in 2025.

The closing dates for campgrounds refer to the final day the site will be open for campers; the night before that date will be the last opportunity for an overnight stay.

Backcountry Camping and Wilderness Permits

Backcountry campgrounds, such as Little Yosemite Valley and those near the High Sierra camps (Glen Aulin, May Lake, Sunrise, Merced Lake, and Vogelsang), do not require reservations through the general campground system. However, visitors must obtain a wilderness permit to camp in these locations.

Lodging at the High Sierra Camps and Housekeeping Camp is managed separately by Yosemite Hospitality.
