It’s not too early to start thinking about those Father’s Day gifts – and the Escalon Chamber of Commerce is putting on a special event in observance of the holiday.
Father’s Day will be Sunday, June 20 and this coming Sunday, June 6, the Chamber will host its Sunday In The Park event, running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hosted in the city’s Main Street Park downtown, there will be a number of free craft activities offered for kids to make gifts for their father or the father figure in their lives.
Attendees can decorate a mug, paint a wooden craft or paint and assemble a clock, with the clock craft hosted through Strand Ace Hardware.
This is the second of the Sunday In The Park series the Chamber has put on for 2021, having returned with the first one in May.
Festivities also typically include tours of the historic Main Street caboose, music, and the chance for families to get outside, enjoy the fresh air and spend some time together. Weather forecasters are also predicting a cooldown somewhat from the mid-week triple digit heat. Sunday’s forecast calls for sunny skies, with temperatures in the low 90s.
