Following the 2022 Cookie Program, Girl Scouts Heart of Central California (GSHCC) donated 3,580 cases – a total of 42,960 individual packages – of cookies to local charities and first-responders.

GSHCC’s Cookie Share program allows members of the community to support Girl Scouts during Cookie Season, even if they are not interested in buying cookies. For every $5 Cookie Share donation, GSHCC distributes a package of cookies to be donated to a local food pantry, homeless shelter, or other worthy cause. These donations also help individual Girl Scouts and local troops reach their sales goals.

Thanks to the sales skills of the 3,380 Girl Scouts who participated in Cookie Share in 2022, GSHCC was able to gift thousands of cases of cookies to multiple Blue Star Moms chapters, fire and police departments, the Red Cross, children and family resource centers, the Marine Corps, the National Guard, homeless shelters, Meals on Wheels, and local food banks across its 18-country region, including Yolo Food Bank, ASI Food Pantry, Second Harvest Food Bank, Lodi Food Bank, Escalon CARE Food Pantry, and Food Bank of Nevada County.

“Giving back is a major tenet of Girl Scouts, and part of our larger mission to create girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place,” said GSHCC CEO Dr. Linda E. Farley. “Girl Scouts of all ages give back in big and small ways, and they use their creativity to solve community problems.”
