The Escalon High School Music Boosters, in cooperation with EHS Musical Arts, recently hosted a brand new Cougar Coffee Night for the community.
Staged in the school’s Performing Arts Center, the Thursday, Feb. 7 evening of music began at 7 p.m. and featured a number of groups, performing in front of a large crowd.
Live small group ensemble music was presented, with both EHS Band and Choir students taking part.
The $5 ticket cost covered the entertainment, as well as coffee, hot chocolate and finger food desserts. The event was a fundraiser for the music program and officials said the response was overwhelming, with a large supportive crowd turning out for this first-ever ‘Coffee House’ fundraiser.
Based on the turnout, officials added it likely will become an annual event to showcase the students and help support the music programs on campus.
