Investigation into a local burglary in Escalon led local police officers to nearby Oakdale over the weekend, where they made three arrests.
Sunday morning, Oct. 5, the Escalon Police Department, led by Officer Flores and Officer Martinez, served a search warrant at a residence in Oakdale. The suspect in a vehicle burglary, Aaron Sproat, 39, from Oakdale was living at the residence.
During the service of the search warrant, property from two vehicle burglaries in Escalon along with marijuana, methamphetamine, and a loaded firearm were seized. There was also a vehicle at the residence that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a third vehicle burglary in Escalon.
Police reported that two other residents, Melinda Anderson, 35, from Oakdale and Mendi Dunn, 44, from Oakdale were also arrested.
Sproat was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held on $123,000 bond.

She was released on her own recognizance. Dunn was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and released with her promise to appear.
Police obtained the search warrant after following up leads in the Escalon burglary investigation produced information leading to the Oakdale location. Escalon officers were assisted at the scene by Oakdale Police.
