Delta Drama presenting “Fahrenheit 451” on stage
F51

Opening this weekend, Delta Drama returns to the stage starting Friday, Feb. 28 with a gripping and thought-provoking adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s iconic novel “Fahrenheit 451.”

The tale is set in a dystopian future where books are banned and ‘firemen’ burn them to maintain control. As Montag, a firefighter turned rebel, begins to question the oppressive regime, he discovers the power of knowledge, free thought, and human connection.

This intense, fast-paced play explores themes of censorship, conformity, and the fight for individuality, and will keep you questioning the role of information in shaping our world.

Performances are scheduled in the Al Muller Studio Theatre on the campus of Delta College, 5151 Pacific Ave., Stockton.

Show times are Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 28 and March 1, March 7 and 8 at 7 p.m.; with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. on March 2 and 9.

Tickets are available at www.deltadrama.com, at the Delta College Box Office, or by calling 209-954-5110. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. This production is recommended for ages 12 and up.

The Delta College drama program develops knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for transfer to the upper division level as well as fulfilling AA Degree general education requirements.

The program provides a rigorous, disciplined, and integrated curriculum designed to meet the vocational demands of the theatre profession, with scholarships available to new students who qualify.

The actor training program is a two-year course of study in which students who have successfully auditioned can concentrate their efforts in rigorous acting classes three times a week in the first year and five times a week in the second year, while also studying stagecraft in separate technical classes.
