Doctors Hospital Manteca Introduces New Fluoroscopic Suite
FLUOROSCOPIC
Doctors Hospital of Manteca now offers an advanced fluoroscopy imaging system that allows physicians to obtain real-time Xray images of the anatomy while also featuring a special design that can accommodate patients of all sizes.

The installation of an advanced fluoroscopy imaging system that allows physicians to obtain real-time Xray images of the anatomy, while featuring a special design that can accommodate patients of all sizes, has been completed at Doctors Hospital of Manteca. The new digital radiographic and fluoroscopic suite is located in the hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Department.

The AXIOM Luminos system provides physicians a tableside fluoroscopy system that is capable of imaging larger patients who might otherwise be turned away or forced to stand for a study because of their weight. In addition, the system has an easy-to-use intuitive user interface, which allows physicians to complete exams in less time.

“This new equipment helps us improve the exam experience with the increased flexibility and ability to accommodate a variety of patients. The equipment also provides improved quality imaging at a lower radiation dose to patients,” said Paul Bhangu, Director of Imaging Services. “With increased table weight limits and the ability to lower the table closer to the ground, patients can move on and off the table more safely and efficiently.”

With the AXIOM Luminos, Doctors Hospital of Manteca is able to meet the challenges caused by the increased prevalence of obesity. Featuring a wide table and high weight limit, the system is designed for a full range of patient profiles. It can support up to 600 pounds in the locked horizontal position and 500 pounds with table movement. Additionally, a spacious 55-centimeter-wide opening between the imaging table and intensifier enables larger patients to fit easily within the system, providing for more comfortable positioning. The larger space is also advantageous for applications such as swallow studies, where wheelchair-bound patients are imaged in an upright position.

Doctors Hospital of Manteca has more than 500 employees and a medical staff of more than 150 physicians, making it one of the largest employers in that community. While offering the convenience and accessibility of a small hospital, Doctors Hospital offers many advanced clinical services. Private patient rooms, expanded and enhanced imaging services, emergency, pharmacy, ICU/CCU and obstetrical services are designed for the care and comfort of patients. Doctors Hospital of Manteca is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. To learn more, visit www.DoctorsManteca.com.
