Busy on several fronts, the Escalon FFA has had a hectic few weeks. Chico Field Day kicked off the month and was a huge success, showcasing the incredible talents and hard work of our students. Our Ag Pest, Agronomy, and Livestock Judging teams all performed exceptionally well and made our chapter proud.

The Ag Pest team earned Third High team, and Lilly Brasil First High Individual. The Agronomy Team also shined brightly at the event, earning Second High Team with Matix Trimble Fourth High Individual. The Livestock Judging Team rounded out our impressive showing at Chico Field Day with Aiden Hohenwarter placing Third.

At Golden State Field Day our students truly shined in the public speaking contest. Their outstanding performances were a clear demonstration of their dedication, preparation and passion for excellence. Cortney Ball brought it home with First Place in Prepared Public Speaking, Haven Smith Fourth Place FFA Creed, and Yasmin Esquivel Castro Top Eight finalist in El Credo de la FFA. Our Parliamentary Procedure team recently participated in the Gridley Contest, and their performance was nothing short of exceptional. Our team placed third high out of 11 schools. These greenhands are paving the way for success. More recently, the team had an incredible showing at the UC Davis Parli Pro contest. The competition was fierce but our team rose to the challenge with our team finishing in sixth place out of 24 teams. They made the final six and placed fourth overall taking them to the regional finals on March 21.

A couple weeks ago we sent out two of our excellent students to the job interview regional contest, Jordin Lovett and Cortney Ball. Jordin took First Place carrying her to the State Job Interview finals this upcoming April at State Conference.

The Sacramento Leadership Experience was an unforgettable event for our students, allowing them to step into the role of state legislators and take on mock legislation. Two of our standout students Jordin Lovett and Natalie Giuntoli had the privilege of attending this prestigious program and their experiences were nothing short of exciting.
