Dispatched to an early morning disturbance on Monday, Dec. 30, Escalon Police Chief Robert Hardgraves said one man on scene was found deceased; the 9-1-1 call of the disturbance came in at 2:59 a.m.
The chief released the following statement, noting that a death investigation was underway.
“In the early morning hours of December 30, 2024, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 1400 block of Brayton Avenue. Upon arrival, they found multiple juveniles, an adult female, and a deceased adult male who had suffered a gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing and nobody is currently facing any charges.”
The deceased, whose name was not released by authorities on Monday, was identified only as a 39-year-old male.
Chief Hardgraves said the department would provide updated information following the completion of an autopsy.
