Escalon firefighters responded with mutual aid to the scene of a three-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning, Feb. 25 near the intersection of French Camp Road and Highway 120. According to information provided by the Stockton CHP, a 60-year-old man was driving a 2015 Chevy SUV westbound on 120 west of French Camp Road followed by a 21-year-old female driving a 2016 Hyundai. A 29-year-old male was driving a 2019 Freightliner eastbound on 120 and for unknown reasons, the 60-year-old male made a left turn directly in front of the Freightliner, resulting in a head on collision. The impact caused the Chevy SUV to collide with the Hyundai. The driver and her 7-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital, the driver with minor injuries and the juvenile with major injuries. The big rig driver was not transported and the CHP said the 60-year-old-male driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m.
