Festive line-up slated for Fete entertainment

There will be plenty of entertainment in store for those attending the 2024 edition of Park Fete later this month, with some new sounds as well as returning favorites.

Escalon’s annual celebration is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27, with vendor booths and the Fun and Games carnival area opening for business on Friday afternoon, July 26 at 4 p.m.

First up on stage will be Tony & The Tough Times, playing from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on July 26, followed by 21 Nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Rounding out the Friday night shows will be popular returning group, The Tailights, playing from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturday stage entertainment, July 27, will begin with PowerHouse Dance, with several solo and group acts entertaining the crowd. The Park Fete parade is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday; the American Legion Honor Guard will give a demonstration in the stage area immediately following the parade and dancers take the stage following the Honor Guard program.

From 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., enjoy the music of Dennis Parrish, followed by LilLana Cajias from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Tony Freitas takes the stage as Elvis from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Western Bound is set to perform from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Entertainment continues on in to the night, with the Kickstart Blues Band performing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and headliner Gotcha Covered taking the stage from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. to close out the Park Fete festivities on Saturday.

To get involved with the Friday night Escalon Police Department annual Cornhole Tournament, register with Officer Ben Harrison by email at bharrison@cityofescalon.org or text to 209-701-8114. The tournament is being organized by the Police Department Explorers and Reserves; cost is $30 and deadline to enter is Thursday, July 25.

Also, a reminder to get your tickets now for the Senior Mr. and Mrs. Escalon Luncheon. The luncheon is set for Tuesday, July 23 at the Escalon Community Center and pre-sale tickets are available; no tickets will be sold at the door. Being honored this year for their contributions to the community are longtime local couple Glenn and Terri Van Ruler. The luncheon will be at noon on July 23 and tickets cost $30 per person.
