Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, the Escalon Educational Foundation will once again be hosting its fun, festive and filling Edible Expo. The theme for this year’s event, being staged at the Escalon Community Center from 6 pm. to 11 p.m., is ‘Eat, Drink and Have a Ball’ and is open to those 21 and over only.
Tickets are $50 per individual and there will also be music, raffle drawings, and live and silent auctions. The food and beverage tasting event has seen a wide variety of offerings in the past, everything from pizza and ravioli to steak bites, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options. Attendees are able to walk around and socialize while sampling the foods, desserts and beverages.
Co-coordinator April Adams said the proceeds from this year will go directly to Class of 2024 Senior Scholarships and classroom grants throughout the district. All the money raised by EEF goes back into the school system, providing grants and scholarships. The Edible Expo is one of two fundraisers put on by the EEF, said Adams, with the Color Run the next event, set for Feb. 10.
Among the vendors booked for Saturday night are Tacos de Nieve, Lumberyard Cellars, Blodgett Catering, Seagrams Escapes, Michelle and Tim Fitzgerald, Hula’s, Boisett Wine Collection, EscalonFit Nutrition, MarVal, D’Boni’s Pizza, EHS FFA Food Science and more.
Adams said there is also a long list of donors for the raffle items, live and silent auctions, all helping the Escalon Educational Foundation work toward their goals of raising funds to benefit all Escalon Unified School District students.
