Francis formally appointed Community Hospice CEO

Effective Feb. 1, Mathew Francis has taken over the role of President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Community Hospice and Health Services.

Community Hospice and Health Services (CHHS) Board of Directors recently announced the appointment of Mathew Francis as President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective Feb. 1, 2025. Francis assumed the Interim CEO role in October 2024.

As President/CEO, Francis is responsible for the overall and day to day operations of all aspects of Community Hospice and Health Services, and its affiliate organizations, Community Hospice and Health Services Foundation, and CHI Management, Inc.

“Mathew joined Community Hospice and Health Services as the Interim CEO several months ago and has been instrumental in providing continuity of operations and the development of strategic initiatives for the organization,” shared Fatima Seward, CHHS Board Chair. “It has been a pleasure for the Board of Directors to work with him and we have complete confidence that with his passion and demonstrated executive experience and strategic leadership he is well-positioned for this new role.”

CHHS is the oldest and largest nonprofit hospice and support services provider in the Central Valley. Care extends beyond end-of-life hospice services, offering home and community-based palliative care, pediatrics specialty support services, bereavement and mental health counseling, Camp Wokini youth grief camp, general inpatient and respite care at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House, and more.

Francis has more than 35 years of experience at the senior management level, including 12 as Co- Founder and President of Pacific Rim Advisory Group, LLC, located in Modesto, CA. He has led strategic, tactical, and operational planning in multiple facets of enterprise, including non-profit. Francis has proven exceptional leadership, communication, and collaborative skills at all levels of an organization, resulting in improved financial performance, effectiveness, and efficiency.
