Freeze warning issued for Central Valley

A wide area is under a freeze warning, issued by the National Weather Service in Sacramento.

The impacted region ranges from the Carquinez Strait and Delta, Sacramento Valley, Motherlode, Mountains Southwestern Shasta County to Western Colusa County, Northeast Foothills, the Northern San Joaquin Valley, and Shasta Lake Area/Northern Shasta County.

The freeze warning is in effect from 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 through Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m.

Low temperatures of 30 to 36 degrees are forecast and frost is possible Tuesday morning at elevations below 2000 feet.

These cold temperatures could be hazardous to pets, plants, and those without adequate heating. Frost and freeze conditions could impact sensitive vegetation. Forecasters recommend taking steps now to protect those sensitive to cold weather impacts.
