Senior citizens from throughout the region are invited to attend a special program, “The Joy and Magic of the Holidays”, to be hosted at the Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon. Date for the event is Friday, Dec. 6 and those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Saturday, Nov. 30 to John at 209-470-2660 or Duane at 209-996-7120. Admission is free and the program is sponsored by the Escalon Sunrise Rotary Club and churches of Escalon.

“It’s a holiday event for the senior citizens of Escalon and surrounding areas,” explained Rotary Club member Dave Mantooth.

The menu features lasagna, salad and beverages. The program runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Along with the free meal, there will be entertainment, gifts for all in attendance and drawings for prizes.

Mantooth said they have always offered the free dinner and holiday program to ‘seniors’ without really setting a specific age limit and welcome in all who are able to attend.
