Fundraiser planned, donations sought for baseball renovations
Tradition

The Escalon High School Baseball Program is on a mission to raise $100K in 100 days to renovate the EHS Cougar Home Field.

Starting in November, the entire infield of the varsity baseball field will be removed from approximately 20 feet in to the outfield, all the way back to the bricks behind home plate. The field will be graded, leveled, and then completed with a high-end sports turf sod. This project will take about a month. The Cougars will be playing on the new field for the February home opener.

“Our deadline is nearing, and we need our community’s support to raise the funds needed,” said Steve Riesenbeck, who is helping coordinate the effort. “We’ve raised approximately two-thirds of the cost, but need to finish the last month strong.”

If you are a business or individual looking to make a lasting impact on the community, consider becoming a sponsor or donor. There are many opportunities and ways to contribute. Donations are made to a 501 (C)(3) and are tax deductible.

“The Escalon Baseball Program is rich in tradition, respect, and honor. It has long been known for teaching the players to play the game the right way,” added Riesenbeck. “We hope to carry on these traditions and values for years to come. We look forward to partnering with the community to make this project happen in time for the 2025 Home Opener.”

EHS Baseball will also be hosting a Corn Hole Tournament fundraiser this Saturday, Oct. 26 at Orlandos Market in Escalon. The event kicks off at noon and will be a guaranteed two game minimum, with prizes being awarded to the winners. Registration will open up at 11 a.m., and you can register and pay at the door.
