The San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SJCHCC) is celebrating its 51st Annual Business Awards and Installation Luncheon on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at the Hilton Stockton Grand Ballroom. Doors open at 11:15 a.m., with the program running from noon to 1 p.m.

Tickets are $75 per person, which includes lunch. The program also includes the installation and presentation of the new Board of Directors.

For the past 51 years, the Hispanic Chamber has been recognizing people and businesses that are thriving in San Joaquin County.

“The businesses and individuals who were nominated in each category are not only successful, but are making a difference in their community,” stated Eddie Lira, President.

In 1972, the Stockton Mexican American Chamber of Commerce was formed by a group of business owners and individuals to raise awareness for local Latino issues. The organization went on to serve as a founding charter for both the California and United States Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and currently operates as the San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

This year the chamber will honor Phoenix Roofing & Solar as Business of the Year; BAC Community Bank as the Corporate of the Year; African American Chamber of Commerce & Central Valley Asian American Chamber of Commerce “Central Business Hub” as the Community Based Organization of the Year; City Manager Harry Black and the City of Stockton Economic Development Department recipient of the Business Advocate of the Year; Judy Quintana, Volunteer of the Year, Henry Peralta recipient of the John Aguilar Spirit Award, and Bob Gutierrez recipient of the SJCHCC Legacy Champion Award.

The San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SJCHCC) represents the interests of approximately 350 members. The Chamber provides assistance in opening businesses, accessing capital, and linking members to members through its many events held throughout the year.
