This week will feature a pair of benefit events showcasing Escalon High School athletes, staff members and alumni.
First up, set for Wednesday evening, May 10 in the EHS new gym, it’s the return of the EHS Staff vs. Student Basketball Game. The contest will have EHS varsity boys and girls basketball players taking the court against the EHS staff members. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the tip-off is at 6 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors and students, those five and under are admitted free. The game is a fundraiser for the EHS Boys Basketball Program so no passes (CIF, TVL, EHS Family Passes, etc.) of any kind will be accepted for admission.
Then, on Friday, May 12 you can head back to the new gym for a full night of volleyball action. It’s the Buff Puff/Alumni fundraiser games, with admission $5 for adults, $3 for students, kids 12 and under admitted free. Proceeds benefit the EHS volleyball program.
The competition starts with the Buff Puff games, the senior boys vs. the freshman boys kicking off the night at 5 p.m.; with the junior vs. sophomore boys following at 6 p.m. Winners of those two games will face off for the Buff Puff Championship at 7 p.m.
Then, the EHS varsity girls volleyball team – reigning Section champions – will take on the Alumni team, starting at 8 p.m.
