Legion Post breakfast, November event set
American Legion

With hundreds of classic car enthusiasts expected in town Saturday for the annual Escalon Lions Club Autumn Cruise, the Escalon American Legion Post 263 is putting on a pancake breakfast at the Post rooms on Second Street.

Date is Sept. 14; the car show breakfast is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will be served at the Legion Hall, 1531 Second St., Escalon. The $10 ticket is for to go orders or in person dining and the menu includes pancakes, eggs and meats, along with beverages.

The fundraising breakfast is just one of the events on the calendar for the local Legion during September; they also put up flags along Main Street for the Labor Day holiday on Sept. 2 and for the Sept. 11 observance of Patriot Day. The observance of POW/MIA Day on Friday, Sept. 20 will also see the American flags placed all along Main Street.

Plans are currently being made for the annual Veterans Day ceremony hosted by the Post, beginning with a parade on Main Street at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.

Following the parade, there will be a ceremony at the Community Center Memorial Wall at 11:30 a.m.; followed by a barbecue lunch.

Tickets for the lunch are available at $15 per person, eat in or to go, with lunch served from noon to 3 p.m.

For tickets, call Fallon Nunes, Adjutant, at 209-484-3641. Tickets will also be available on site the day of the event.
