Escalon’s American Legion Post 263 will be honoring all deceased veterans with a number of ceremonies scheduled for Monday, May 27 – Memorial Day.
There will be programs offered at four different cemeteries around the region, with the laying of wreaths and brief ceremonies planned at each one.
Post members will start the day out at Burwood Cemetery on River Road at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. ceremony at St. John’s Cemetery on Carrolton Road, just off Highway 120; a 12 p.m. gathering at Farmington Memorial Park on Escalon-Bellota Road and the day’s ceremonies will wrap up with a program at Valley Home Memorial Park on Lone Tree Road at 1:30 p.m.
All are invited to join in the ceremonies at any or all of the locations.
Memorial Day, Monday, May 27 is a federal holiday; city, county, state and federal offices are closed. Banks are closed, there is no mail delivery and businesses have the option of closing.
