With the theme ‘Adventure Begins At Your Library’ the sign-ups have begun for the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library Summer Reading Club.
Offered for all ages, from babies and toddlers to senior citizens, the Summer Reading Club runs from June 1 through July 31.
For the club itself, those from birth up to age 12, read 10 books – or have books read to them – to fill up a reading log. Teens and adults must read three books. Submit the reading log online at the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library website or drop it off in person at the local library branch, 1540 Second St., Escalon. There are prizes for completing each reading log; participants can fill up as many logs as they want during the summer to earn more prizes.
Children and teens, up to age 17, will earn a free book with the submission of their first reading log while adults, 18 and over, earn a free book bag with the submission of their first reading log.
All reading logs submitted from June 1 through June 30 will be eligible for prizes including four tickets to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo; a gift certificate to Limitless Escape Games in Stockton; or four passes for kids up to age 12 to Fairytale Town in Sacramento.
Prize drawings for logs submitted from July 1 through July 31 will include four tickets for kids up to age 12 for the World of Wonder Science Museum in Lodi; two tickets to a choice of shows for teens and adults to the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto; and a family pass plus four Giraffe Encounter Tickets to the Sacramento Zoo.
The ‘end of the summer’ prizes – with winners picked from among all logs submitted during the program – are two passes for the Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Stockton or four MVP tickets to any Stockton Ports game during the 2024 season, plus a swag pack.
