Local fundraisers set for church, 4-H club

This weekend features a pair of longtime local fundraisers in the Escalon community.

First up, the Escalon 4-H will host its annual Pancake Breakfast at Van Allen Elementary School, corner of Highway 120 and Van Allen Road, on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages three to 10; under three eat for free.

This is the organization’s annual fundraising breakfast; along with the food, there will also be a number of items offered in opportunity drawings.

The second fundraising event of the day will be hosted at the Saron Lutheran Church, site of the annual Kris Kringle Market.

The church is at 1742 North St.; hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be crafts, gifts, baked goods, jams, books, puzzles and more. Also available, a chili lunch and hot chocolate and the day will also include an opportunity to visit with Santa; kids of all ages are welcome.
