A sunny Sunday saw plenty of residents take time to stop by the city’s Main Street Park, with the Chamber of Commerce hosting the ‘Sunday in the Park’ festivities on May 6. With Mother’s Day looming, activities were centered around what kids can give to mom – with plants to be potted, birdfeeders to be crafted and cards to be decorated.
All the activities featured take home projects for the kids and there was also popcorn available from the Escalon Historical Society, along with tours of the historic caboose in the park.
Background music was provided by Rich Olds from the stage while kids and adults made their way around the cluster of tables to take part in the many activities. There was also sidewalk chalk to create colorful drawings on the pavement in front of the stage.
Miss Escalon and her court were on hand to assist the kids with the projects, as well as Escalon library assistant Amanda Clifford, and several Chamber of Commerce representatives.
