The second of Escalon’s monthly Farmers Markets was hosted in the Main Street Park area on Wednesday, May 17. Temperatures that pushed past 90 degrees may have kept the crowd numbers down slightly but those that turned out found plenty to enjoy. Among them were young Kai Schmidt, 3, at left, digging in to his shave ice, already melted in the cup; and a group of artists, taking a turn with the chalk to create some designs on the large chalkboard. There was also food, music, produce vendors, toys, handmade items and more for sale. The next market night is set for Wednesday, June 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
