Music Boosters hosting Trivia Night fundraiser
Music Notes

A popular event from the past – making a reappearance after several years – teams are being encouraged now to sign up for the Escalon High School Music Boosters Trivia Night.

The Trivia Bee will have a Disney theme and is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.

There will be dinner and the trivia competition, with funds raised going toward financing a music department trip to Disneyland, band supplies and scholarships.

The trivia team of three people must include at least one student in fifth through 12th grades; the second and third team members can be either a student or an adult. Entry fee per team is $150 and includes dinner for the team.

The dinner will be catered by D’Boni’s and includes pasta, meat, salad, bread, soft drinks and dessert.

“The EHS and El Portal Music Boosters are in the process of merging together to form Escalon Music Boosters,” April Adams noted of working to consolidate and combine efforts. “The high school music department is planning a trip to Disneyland and we are working on trip for El Portal music students to Santa Cruz.”

Also, said Adams, four choir students at EHS have qualified to perform in the Regional Honor Choir: Daniel Adams, Madelyn Fahey, Cortney Ball and Brenden Berchtold.

As far as the trivia competition, Adams said they are asking participants to wear their “Disney best” – whether that is Mickey Mouse ears, Disney shirts or costumes. Audience members can also sport Disney attire for the event.

Along with teams to enter, the Music Boosters are seeking sponsorships for teams at $150; sponsors will be noted in the evening’s advertising program.

Also being sought are donations for the raffle and/or silent auction; tax-deductible donations can be made or you can purchase dinner tickets at $25 each and attend the dinner and watch the competition.

Donated auction items can be picked up or dropped off at Escalon High School. To schedule a pick-up of the donation, contact April Adams at 209-606-6487 or Kaili Fugett at 209-605-6954.

The night of the event, there will be a drawing for a special 50/50 raffle, with 50 percent of the cash going to the winner and 50 percent being awarded to an EHS student going on the Disneyland trip. Tickets will be sold for cash only at Trivia Night, cost is $5 per ticket or five for $20.

Adams said payment for all team entries, sponsorships and dinner tickets are requested by Wednesday, Oct. 30. Checks can be made payable to EHS Music Boosters, 1528 Yosemite Ave., Escalon CA 95320 or Venmo at EHS-MusicBoosters.
