A brand-new event, the ‘6 Senses Nature Journaling Adventure’ will have its first session on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m., in Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park, 4520 W. Eight Mile Road, Stockton.

All are welcome to join in at the Nature Center at the park for this program, which will run the third Sunday of the month from September through November. In addition to the Sept. 15 date, future meetings are set for Oct. 20 and Nov. 17.

Enjoy an easy walk concentrating on the senses including “sense of place” while completing a Nature Journal Adventure page. Activities are scheduled to include leaf/bark rubbing, creating a sound map, sketching a natural item, and poem writing. It is an ideal event for adults and families.

The program is free, though there is a $6 cash parking fee. No pets allowed, and no reservations are required.
