An early morning abduction attempt was reported to the Escalon Police on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
According to the police report, a female juvenile was walking to school on Swanson Drive at about 7:45 a.m.
As she was crossing Crestwood Drive, northbound towards Swanson Park, an unknown man approached her. The man was described as a white male adult, with dark hair, clean shaven, around six feet, two inches tall and he was dressed in a black jacket and gray sweatpants, all very baggy.
The man got out of a white and burgundy colored car (no further description) that was parked westbound on Crestwood Drive. The man approached the juvenile and attempted to coax the girl into his vehicle. She immediately called her father to come get her and began walking faster. The man ran back to his vehicle and fled the area.
Police sought help from residents in the Swanson area, asking them to check their surveillance videos for any white and burgundy vehicles seen in the vicinity that day.
The case remains under investigation.
