Teams registered for the 2025 Relay For Life of the Greater Central Valley are gearing up for the mid-May event and are putting on plenty of fundraisers between now and then.

The Relay Corner will be a regular feature in the weeks leading up to the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event, which is scheduled this year from 9 a.m. Saturday, May 17 to 9 a.m. Sunday, May 18 at Johansen High School in Modesto. Teams from communities throughout Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties will take part, as well as some from neighboring counties as well.

 

Spring Craft Fair

Wellspring Anglican Church, 1548 Cummins Drive, Modesto will be the site for a Spring Craft Fair for a Cure. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with plenty of vendors signed up to take part. Come do some shopping for unique items and support Relay For Life at the same time. Vendors scheduled to take part include PartyLite, Paparazzi, Scentsy, Marcella’s Mexican Restaurant, Haro Crafts, Lil Bitz & Pieces, Donerry Lane and Creative Creations. Also, Tilly Crafts, PermaLinx, California Landscape Supply, Dak with a Book, Jellies, Peppers, and Salsa’s, The Churro Spot and Referral Auto Group. Look for spinners, crocheted items, bowl cozies, blankets, wreaths and more.

 

General Meeting

The next general meeting for teams and participants involved in the 2025 Relay For Life of the Greater Central Valley is scheduled for Thursday, March 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Special guest speaker for the evening will be Cheryl Casey, Complementary Program Therapy Coordinator. Dinner will be available at cost of $8 per plate, served as a fundraiser by team United in Love, featuring an enchilada, rice and beans. The meeting will be hosted at Wellspring Anglican Church, 1548 Cummins Drive, Modesto. DIY Workshop

The Pirates-of-the-CURE-ibbean team at Relay For life is hosting a Do-It-Yourself doormat workshop. Seating is limited, visit https://shorturl.at/phk29 to register and enter access code BBRFL25. You can then click on the project you want to create, enter information requested on the page and click on the “Add Reservation” tab and follow the prompts until registration is completed. The event is scheduled for Monday, March 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Board and Brush, 3020 Floyd Ave., Suite 309, Modesto. Seats available on a first come, first served basis.

 

PlayStation Drawing

Team MLB is offering tickets for a drawing that will be hosted during the 2025 Relay For Life event at Johansen High School, with the drawing to occur at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 17.
