Teams registered for the 2025 Relay For Life of the Greater Central Valley are gearing up for the mid-May event and are putting on plenty of fundraisers to earn money in the fight against cancer.

The Relay Corner will be a regular feature in the weeks leading up to the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event, which is scheduled this year from 9 a.m. Saturday, May 17 to 9 a.m. Sunday, May 18 at Johansen High School in Modesto. Teams from communities throughout Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties will take part, as well as some from neighboring counties as well.

 

Bingo Fun

Come out and join in the fun and games as Heart, Hope, and Soul Sisters puts on a Bingo fundraiser on Saturday, April 26 at Wellspring Anglican Church, 1548 Cummins Drive, Modesto. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., Bingo starts at 1 p.m. and tickets are $20 if paid in advance, $25 at the door. Ten chances to win a prize in the games. PlayStation Drawing

Team MLB is offering tickets for a drawing that will be hosted during the 2025 Relay For Life event at Johansen High School, with the drawing to occur at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. Yard Sale

Come see what treasures you can find at a yard sale, being hosted as a fundraiser for Heart, Hope, And Soul Sisters and benefitting the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of the Greater Central Valley. The yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 21 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 213 E. Union Ave., Modesto. Help the team strike out cancer and support the yard sale by making a purchase.

 

Golf Tournament

It’s not until Monday Oct. 20, but registration is on and sponsors are being sought for a golf tournament to benefit the Relay For Life of the Greater Central Valley. Golfers and non-golfers alike are welcome. The day will begin with registration starting at 10 a.m., at Turlock Golf and Country Club, 10532 Golf Link Road, Turlock. The format of the tournament will be a four-person team scramble with a shotgun start. Space is limited to the first 144 players. For golfers, the entry fee of $175 per player includes range balls, green fees, golf carts, beverages on the course, a delicious prime rib dinner and a night of fun. Appetizers and a no host bar will be available beginning at 4:30 p.m. Raffle and silent auction items will be on display for viewing and bidding. Non-golfers can still enjoy the prime rib dinner for $60. Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a live auction during the dessert course. To register, go to www. RFLGCVgolf.com.
