Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend; residents are reminded to set their clocks one hour ahead before going to bed Saturday night, March 12, as DST begins at 2 a.m., Sunday, March 13.
The start of Daylight Saving Time will see an extra hour of sunlight at the end of the day, coinciding with the arrival of warmer spring weather and extending the daylight hours through the summer months. It also means one less hour of sleep this weekend.
Standard time has been in effect since Nov. 7, 2021 and the return of Daylight Saving Time will be in effect for the next several months once it arrives on March 13. The ‘fall back’ to Standard Time won’t occur until Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022.
