Safe and Sane fireworks available for purchase
July 4 events

Four booths have the Safe and Sane fireworks on sale for the July 4 holiday, scattered throughout the City of Escalon.

Booths can operate from noon Friday, June 28 through midnight Thursday, July 4 and organizations hosting the booths use them for fundraising.

One booth is traditionally set aside for the city, operated by its Escalon Parks Foundation, and is set up in the shopping center parking lot in the 2200 block of Jackson, close to both D’Boni’s Pizza and Hula’s.

Trinity Church Assembly of God has a booth at MarVal Main Street Market, in the 1900 block of McHenry; Van Allen Elementary Parents Club is set up at Ace Hardware, in the 3300 block of McHenry; and the El Portal Middle School Parent Teacher Club has its booth near the ‘Big Red Barn’ headed west out of town along the highway, just over the railroad tracks in the 900 block of Yosemite.

Authorities remind residents to use extreme caution when setting off fireworks – even the ‘Safe and Sane’ variety – and to use them only as directed. It’s also recommended to have a bucket of water or a hose nearby as a precautionary measure while using the fireworks.
