This April, the San Joaquin County Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) invites the community to participate in Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and promoting efforts to protect children and strengthen families. Throughout the month, CAPC and its partners will host activities and initiatives to shine a light on the importance of child safety and well-being.
Key events and initiatives include:
Wear Blue Day – April 4, join in wearing blue to show your support for child abuse prevention. Snap a photo, share it on social media, and tag CAPC to spread awareness.
Collins Electric Goes Blue – Collins Electric will illuminate its facade in blue, the national color of child abuse prevention, symbolizing hope and commitment to a safer future for children.
San Joaquin County Proclamation – April 8, local leaders will officially recognize April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, emphasizing the community’s commitment to ending abuse and neglect.
Blue Sunday – Faith communities across the county will dedicate a day to raising awareness about child abuse prevention and supporting affected families.
Billboards and PSA Campaigns – Powerful messages will be displayed throughout the county to educate the public and encourage action.
Pinwheel Gardens – Businesses and community members are encouraged to plant a Pinwheel Garden, the national symbol of child abuse prevention, to show support for children and families.
