Recently installed along Stanislaus Street at the intersection with North Street, the new stop signs are designed to help reduce the speed of motorists through the area, which runs along one side of the Escalon High School campus. Residents in the area had asked for a stop sign because of the high incidence of speeding vehicles recorded along the straightaway.
