It’s still well over a month away but sign-ups are being taken now for the Escalon Educational Foundation popular Color Run, set for Saturday, Feb. 8.
In addition to registering runners, the EEF is also seeking sponsors to help put on the event.
There are both a one-mile and two-mile run, with participants able to walk, jog, run, skip … whatever form they want to use to cover the course and pass by the various color stations to get doused with a rainbow of powdered color.
All proceeds from the event benefit the students of Escalon Unified School District.
“We look forward to working together to meet the growing needs of our students,” noted event co-chairs April Adams and Kaity French.
Sponsorships range from the $150 bronze level, to a $300 silver level, $500 gold level up to a $1000 platinum level; each with specific perks for the sponsorship, including name recognition for the company or individual on the back of the race T-shirt.
All participants registered by Saturday, Jan. 11 will be guaranteed a race T-shirt from Baker Print Co.
Registration fee is $25 per person, and the Color Run will be hosted at Escalon High School. Check in on Saturday, Feb. 8 will be from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m.
T-shirt pick-up will be the night before, Friday, Feb. 7 at D’Boni’s Pizza in Escalon, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In 2024, proceeds from the Color Run allowed the EEF to provide grants to each school in the district, along with Teacher Grants provided to 18 teachers and nine scholarships provided to graduating seniors.
“Our goal is always student-centered and in supporting our school district in providing the most enriching academic experience possible,” Adams and French added.
