Escalon’s Brush 1-1 is shown on scene of a multi-alarm fire on Monday, June 3 near the intersection of Highway 120 and French Camp Road in Ripon. The fire was first reported late Sunday evening, June 2 and Escalon was among the departments called to the scene, as it has an automatic mutual aid agreement with Ripon Fire. Officials reported there were some evacuations of nearby residences when the fire initially broke out but there were no reports of damage to neighboring properties. Focused on a bulk nut storage facility, it is estimated more than two million pounds of nuts were lost. There were no reports of injuries and responding agencies included Escalon, Manteca, Waterloo Morada, Linden Peters, Modesto Fire and more.
