At the request of Fifth District Supervisor Robert Rickman, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors proclaimed “Religious Freedom Day” for the county at their meeting Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025. “Every year I bring this forward to the Board, and one of the reasons is just to remind everybody there are rights that you have that doesn’t come from the government … we are blessed to live in a country where it’s enshrined that you have this freedom,” Rickman, second from left in photo, said. The recognition was accepted on behalf of the community by Pastor Dr. Kevin James of New Creation Bible Fellowship in Tracy.
