Calaveras County’s Chief Probation Officer Kim Craddock, a proud alumna of Stanislaus State with a degree in cultural anthropology, currently leads a dedicated team of 15 officers and navigates daily challenges and rewards of the probation field.

In the face of adversity, Bradley Soares’ resilience stands out. Despite experiencing professional and personal challenges – including a cancer diagnosis – he still managed to balance his studies at Stanislaus State and earn his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in operations management.

 

Passion for Teaching Language

Litzy Rivera, a Stanislaus State student and English language teacher at Traina Foods, is dedicated to bridging cultural gaps. Her approach to teaching English to Spanish-speaking employees is built on shared cultural insights, enhancing both her students’ learning experience and her own. Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Rivera emphasizes the mutual benefits of learning, “Our shared culture is a powerful bridge that enhances our connection and learning.” Her success illustrates the power of cultural empathy in education, and her story highlights the importance and effectiveness of fostering inclusive and effective environments.
