Geographical Society

Stanislaus State will host the 2025 California Geographical Society Conference April 25-27, welcoming geography educators, researchers, students and professionals from across the state. The event invites attendees to explore the northern San Joaquin Valley and connect through fieldwork, research presentations and academic dialogue.

 

Scholarly Article

Stanislaus State’s Alexander Ayers co-authored a published article in California Geographer that explores downtown Modesto’s cultural identity and evolution through its public murals. The piece, “Out of the Fog: Tracing Image and Identity in Modesto’s Murals,” stemmed from a geography field methods course and mentorship by Professor Jennifer Helzer.

 

Mathematics Achievement

Stanislaus State baseball student-athlete Patrick Sweeney has been named the 2024-25 Outstanding Student Achiever for Mathematics, recognizing his academic excellence and contributions to the University community.

 

Welcome Mat

On Saturday, April 26, Stanislaus State will host Warrior Welcome, a celebratory event for students admitted to the University for the 2025-2026 academic year. Designed to help future Warriors and their families connect with campus resources and one another, the event will include guided tours, student organization showcases, housing previews and opportunities to engage with faculty, staff and current students.
