Suspect sought in June 2 Escalon incident

San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department officials have released information about an early June incident in Escalon and are looking for the public’s help in finding the suspect.

According to the department, at about 7 p.m. on the evening of June 2, in the area of Van Allen Road and Skiff Road in Escalon, a female was out for an evening walk when a male suspect approached her and attempted to sexually assault her. Authorities said she fought back and thanks to her courage was able to fend off her attacker.

The male suspect was described as a white male in his 40’s, approximately six feet tall, with blonde hair, blue eyes and with a mole on his left cheek.

A sketch based on a description supplied by the victim and created by an artificial intelligence program has also been released. Authorities are asking the community for their help in locating the suspect. They are also being asked to share the Sheriff’s Department Facebook post in hopes of someone recognizing the man.
