Escalon High School FFA member Austin Terra has been involved with FFA throughout high school and was recently elected to a regional post. He will be serving as the Central Region reporter, serving 23,000 FFA members in the region.
“We are so excited for Austin as both a school and as a community,” said Escalon ag teacher Isabella Leventini. “The FFA Central Region is the largest region in the state of California, serving over 23,000 members. For Austin to be serving those members is a huge honor and commitment.”
He was part of a group of nominees for Central Region posts, interviewing first in Modesto and later advancing to the final round at Cosumnes River College where he was elected to the office.
“It was just very exciting,” Terra admitted. “Just one of the most rewarding days.”
He will be responsible for keeping Central Region clubs updated on events, maintaining public records and, on occasion, traveling with the other regional officer team members to address FFA groups at schools and events. He also will be able to attend a variety of conference and leadership activities.
Along with the regional office, Terra also serves as treasurer for the local FFA chapter in Escalon.
“Austin has a passion for serving his fellow FFA members as a chapter officer, a sectional officer and now a regional officer,” added Leventini. “This is hugely influential to our members at Escalon High School and we are excited to see what he will accomplish this next year.”
