Carrie Anna Vincent Jack, a resident of the Loomis and Granite Bay areas for over 60 years, passed away on June 27, 2024 in Roseville, California, at the age of 93.

Mrs. Jack was born in Escalon, San Joaquin County on October 2, 1930, the daughter of Judge James Hunt Vincent and Mintie Willson Vincent, both formerly of Tennessee. She was the eldest of three daughters. She attended Escalon schools and was the head cheerleader for two years at Escalon Union High School. She was also active in the Escalon Chapter, Rainbow for Girls, serving as Worthy Advisor and Grand Officer.

Carrie married her high school sweetheart, Martin Earl Jack, Jr., on March 16, 1952, while Marty was stationed with the Navy at Moffett Field in Mountain View, CA. The two celebrated their 70th anniversary several months before Marty passed away in November, 2022.

Carrie was a graduate of Modesto Junior College and California State University, Sacramento. She was a beloved kindergarten teacher at Roseville’s Sierra Gardens School for 23 years, until she retired in 1991. Her years of teaching and the relationships she made with her students and co-workers remained important to her throughout her life.

In addition to playing Bridge with her many friends, Carrie enjoyed spending her retirement years doing extensive research into her family genealogy. She was a long-time active member of the Roseville Branch of the American Association of University of Women and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority in Roseville. Her favorite activity was spending time with family and friends at the family’s mountain cabin in Truckee, CA. She was particularly fond of their Hidden Valley home in Granite Bay, where she and Marty lived for 50 years. There, she loved growing vegetables and flowers, and she frequently shared her arrangements with family and friends.

Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Jack, and her two sisters, Samma Vincent Knepp and Eleanor Vincent Davis. She is survived by her three children, Dr. James Jack (Kitty) of Rescue, CA, Colleen Jacques (Gary) of Auburn, CA, and Kathleen Bacharach (Cris) of Newcastle, CA, as well as seven grandchildren: Grant Donnelly (Greg) of Columbus, OH, Katie Jack of Los Angeles, Kimberly Fleischmann (George) of Folsom, CA, Jimmy Jack (Emily) of Franklin TN, Bryn Bacharach of Sacramento, CA, Brett Bacharach of Huntington Beach, CA, and Abby Bacharach of Encinitas, CA. In addition, Mrs. Jack is survived by two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Blair Fleischmann of Folsom.

Mrs. Jack is buried at the Vincent Family plot at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon, CA. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Oak Lake In Hidden Valley. The clubhouse is located at 7490 West Lane, Granite Bay, CA 95746.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Escalon Historical Society, 1630 Main St., Escalon, CA 95320.
